Welcome to Mardi Gras Port Arthur, where Gulf Coast traditions, Cajun culture and community come together in the official Cajun Capital of Texas! MGPA is designed to be a celebration that grandparents, parents and children can enjoy together.
2027 Dates
The inaugural event will take place on February 5-7, 2027. Check out the schedule here.
Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday, is determined by the lunar-based date of Easter. It is always the Tuesday immediately preceding Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of Lenten season leading up to Easter Sunday.
Communities celebrate the weekend before Fat Tuesday.
