South Texas Nature Guide: Free!

2016 Nature Guide Cover

Members of the Golden Triangle Audubon Society received copies of the brand-new South Texas Guide to Birding and flipped to page 16. This section features Sabine Woods and Sea Rim State Park, Port Arthur area birding hotspots. They know our area is a critical landing point for trans-Gulf migrants as they cross the Gulf of Mexico, and this booklet will guide others to the action.

Birders love maps and portability and this South Texas Nature guide covers all that in a sleek booklet with more than 100 pages guiding wildlife lovers to Texas’ finest spots.

Local birders used words such as “awesome” and “beautiful.” The Jefferson County section also mentions Beaumont’s Spindletop Gladys City Boomtown Museum village, which shares our oil-rich heritage, and highlights the Jurassic to Joplin experience of Museum of the Gulf Coast in Port Arthur.

“Follow our Faith Trail to Our Lady of Guadalupe, Queen of Peace, Buu Mon Buddhist Temple gardens, Temple Emanuel and St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica,” reads another passage.

This guide steers birders to several Texas nature sites and encourages visitors to experience everything else cities have to offer. We’d love you to start with Port Arthur!
