Pompeiian Villa: A Home for the Holidays

Pomeppian Villa parlor at Christmas

This Villa is ready for Christmas!

When you make Port Arthur your “home for the holidays,” pop in to one of our most famous homes, Pompeiian Villa, on beautiful Lakeshore Drive.

Some History

This 10-room “cottage” is an authentic copy of a Pompeiian residence of 74 A.D. Isaac Ellwood, the “barbed wire King,” built the house that was later traded for 10 percent of stock in the newly-formed Texas Company, a forerunner of Texaco. That stock was worth a few thousand dollars but would be worth more than two hundred million dollars today!

Christmas at the Villa

It’s no wonder the Port Arthur Historical Society hosts its annual Christmas party from this beautiful pink villa. Visitors can get a $4 tour they’ll be talking about all season. Pompeiian Villa is adorned in its usual splendor in addition to a trimmed tree, several Santa figurines and poinsettias. Valentin’s Floral & Events decorated the home for season’s greetings.

Book your tour through Museum of the Gulf Coast by calling (409) 982-7000.
