When team Dwiggins was curious about Port Arthur, the Cajun Capital of Texas, filled them in. Their sweet adventure hit all the right spots, and they’re happy to share.

What to do with Kids in Port Arthur

These family explorers wondered if fishing, birding and beach time – while gator searching – sounded fun. Turns out they did. That’s what happened on their action-packed visit. A swamp tour and the Max Bowl arcade were additional highlights.

Hidden Gem Along the Coast

They pegged Port Arthur a hidden gem on the Gulf for outdoor enthusiasts and a laid-back town for families. Cajun cuisine, a swamp tour and beachcombing were perks they’ll remember.

Sea Rim State Park’s stretch of natural beaches, paddling along a kayak trail on the marsh make fun times for visitors of any age. Ask a park ranger about loaner binoculars and get a quick lesson on spotting some beauties! Read on to learn more about their several stops in Port Arthur!

Where Did They Go?

This family did the area right. Make your own path from their stops, including the pirate ship playground at Pleasure Island.

Capt. Eli took them on a Swamp and River Tour along the bayou. This teaching moment featured an ecosystem of gliding gators, soaring eagles and wading egrets.

“The combination of breathtaking scenery and Captain Eli’s local knowledge makes this one of the most memorable experiences ….” Dwiggins said, referring to the tour out of nearby Orange.
