World’s Biggest Pecan?
Groves City Hall, Lincoln Avenue, Groves, TX
Nuts About Groves – Get a shot of Grover, and what could be the World’s Largest Pecan… made of fiberglass. A giant pecan towers 17 feet in Groves. Grover is the cheeky squirrel holding it up for your selfie. The Groves Pecan Festival in October is something people go nuts for, so naturally a big nut is the perfect promotion.
Asa Groves had hundreds of pecan trees planted in the city and the community stuck with that theme. There are other big nuts in other cities, but this is Texas, where everything is bigger. Since 1919, the pecan has been the official tree of the Lone Star State. The sculpture is at Groves City Hall, 3947 Lincoln Avenue.
Crack open some fun in Groves, Port Arthur’s Southeast Texas next-door neighbor.
