La Maison Des Acadienne

Completed in 1976, La Maison Des Acadienne – or “house of Acadia” – is a replica of an authentic Acadian dwelling. It offers an intimate glimpse into the lives of the Cajun pioneers who settled the area alongside the Dutch.
Step back in time. The home is equipped with authentic setups and artifacts, embodying just how the Cajuns lived long before the modern age of convenience.
La Maison is open for tours and group visits and sits next door to the Dutch Windmill Museum.
