UPDATE: The 2024 parade is cancelled due to the weather forecast.
The Tree Lighting at Celebration Park will be rescheduled.
Still on for 2024:
Activities of the Lincoln Avenue Christmas Market will include photos with Santa from 8 a.m. to noon. Bring your camera and a $5 donation to Mid-County Paws of Hope. This will be at Doxie Coffee. Other events include live music from Breylon Cropper at The Soup-er Buffet at Courtyard Cafe from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Also from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. free pictures with Santa will be from Mid-County Real Estate Connection. Bring your camera. Children can write letters to Santa all day at Wildflower. A Christmas Tree coloring contest will be at Stacked Cake and Co. all day.
Just so you know for next time: When Groves has a parade, you’ll want to join in. The holiday spirit in this town, neighboring Port Arthur, overflows.
The parade will typically begin at 39th Street at Cleveland Avenue, head west on 39th St., then will travel to 39th Street to Gulf Avenue. For information, call the Groves Chamber of Commerce at 962-3631.
