Lamar State College-Port Arthur Celebrates July 4th

Music and ice cream make the holiday sweet. Family events will be from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Carl Parker Multipurpose Center on the campus of LSCPA, 1800 Lakeshore Drive in Port Arthur.

The Aces Blues Band will perform live. Look for face painting, a gaming truck and a balloon artist. Motiva will serve free ice cream while supplies last.

The event at the college is a lead-up to the annual fireworks over the canal show hosted by the City of Port Arthur. The fireworks will begin at 9 p.m. with plenty of room along the seawall adjacent to the college. Be sure to bring a lawn chair!
