Sea Rim’s Summer Schedule

A gate on the beach

crab in a netIt’s always beach time at Sea Rim State Park, but check out the schedule below to get in on free shore fishing clinics, a kid fish event and clean ups to keep this 5-mile stretch of natural beach a beauty.

Repeat visitors love to stroll the Gambusia Nature Trail on the park’s Gulf side, then paddle marsh unit trails just across the way.

First-timers can plan to bird, swim, scout out shells and even camp along the Gulf of Mexico for a Texas beach vacation.

The Gambusia Nature Trail is a winding boardwalk over water and through cane that appears different every season you visit. Shorebirds such as heron, coots and roseate spoonbill are regulars along the path. Crabs and gambusia fish are often seen darting in the shallow waters, and there’s almost always a gator nestled in the sea grass.

Sea Rim’s social calendar has been expanded, with shore fishing and crabbing clinics and other teaching/sharing events scheduled throughout the season. Rangers aim to entertain and educate visitors to optimize their beach adventure by understanding the critters that live in the park.
