Family shore fishing clinics at Sea Rim

How about a free fishing lesson thrown into your day at the beach?  

Sea Rim often presents shore fishing clinics that come at no additional charge with park admission. Keep in touch with them, or Port Arthur CVB, on Facebook to know when they’re coming up.  

Join Sea Rim State Park representatives and learn how to shore fish from the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. The park typically supplies the gear, or you can bring your own. Fish for everything the Gulf Coast has to offer, from red drum to sheepshead to seatrout  

NO fishing license is required from the shorelines of Texas State Parks. 

Marcus Heflin and Donald Crain are among instructors who strive to create a family bonding experience  and spark a lifelong love of fishing.  

Be sure to pack some water, sunscreen and a lunch.  

Bring your kayak or rent one to enjoy the three levels of Marsh Unit paddling trails. Sea Rim has a marsh side cabin available to rent.
