FeeTime to Party!
Mardi Gras of Southeast Texas will roll out the good times in Port Arthur. DeAndre Nico, the Port Arthur singer whose spiritual voice wowed fans of “The Voice,” will perform at Mardi Gras of Southeast Texas. NFL running back Jamaal Charles will serve as grand marshal of the Total Krewe of Aurora Grand Parade.
Color Me Carnival
Mardi Gras will color Port Arthur purple, gold and green Feb. 28-March 3 in downtown Port Arthur. A new zydeco stage will bring more performances. The Woodland String Band mummers from Philadelphia will be back. Look for lighted night parades and elaborate costumes. Texas Country, Zydeco Cajun and Latino performers, a state fair quality carnival, vendors and street food are headed our way.
Main Stage
This year on the main stage enjoy Texas music artist Koe Wetzel and Frank Foster for some Texas Country Music. Dr. Zog Band & Category 6 Band will play good ol’ rock. Listen for Jamie Bergeron and the Kickin Cajuns & Jeremy Fruge’ & the Zydeco Hotboyz. For a Latino experience, enjoy Groupo Control.
Thursday’s Parade and Entertainment schedule:
- The Lamar State College-Port Arthur parade will begin at 6 p.m. from the Carl A. Parker Multipurpose center
- 6 p.m. – Jamie Bergeron and Kickin’ Cajuns
- 6 p.m – Alley Kats
- 6 p.m. – Lamar Section 51 Band
- 8 p.m. – Sage Elmore
- 8 p.m. – Category 6
- 8 p.m. Cajun Harmony
