DESCRIPTION:Keeping it Cajun\nGet Your Tickets \nReady for some crawfish? Dancing? The Cajun Heritage Festival is back with music to make you shake a leg. Expect more entertainment updates for the April 4 event. That’s the Saturday before Easter Sunday\, so it’s a celebration. This fest will get you dancing at the Robert A. “Bob” Bowers Civic Center. Our Louisiana friends love to visit us. \nThe festival promotes the shared history of Southeast Texans and Louisianans. How do we do it? Through music and food! \nWe’ll keep you posted on the music\, food and more. Events are set from noon to 10 p.m. \nOn the musical menu:\nCajun Fest has hosted several award-winning musicians including Grammy Award winners Jo-El Sonnier and Wayne Toups. In 2024\, Jamie Bergeron headlined. \nThe 2026 lineup includes: Sean Vidrine & Friends\, Chris Miller & Bayou Roots\, Travis Matte & The Kingpins and Horace Trahan & Ossun Express. \nWhat to expect?\nThis year Cajun Internet Sounds Radio\, CSIR.LIVE\, will present the festival. Sponsors have included The Southeast Texas Arts Council\, the city of Port Arthur and Cajun Sounds Internet Radio. Other sponsors have been Texas Commission on the Arts\, Union Pacific Railroad and the Foundation for Southeast Texas. Look for Cajun food vendors\, beer and beverages\, dance contests\, crawfish racing and eating contests. Youth activities will be part of the day. \nCome early\nExplore Port Arthur’s Cajun heritage with a pre-trip. Stay the night after\, too. Port Arthur eateries offer crawfish\, shrimp and gumbo. DESCRIPTION:Cajun Heritage Fest is for all who love to let the good times roll in Port Arthur. Our Texas twist on celebrating Cajun music\, dancing and flavors draws our Louisiana neighbors to Port Arthur for a day of making new friends and catching up with old ones. \nBands for 2023 include:\nJamie Bergeron & The Kickin’ Cajuns \nTravis Matte & the Kingpins \nDylan Aucoin & the Judice Ramblers \nLeroy Thomas & The Zydeco Roadrunners \nEver experience a crawfish race? Dare to enter the crawfish eating contest? Want to cut a rug? If you don’t know how to do these things\, a Cajun will be glad to show you how. \nCajuns from Louisiana crossed the border to call Southeast Texas home and shared their music\, crawfish and gumbo with us. The Southeast Texas Arts Council hosts this annual event. \nVendors with food and crafts will tempt guests. Activities in the past have included a dance contest and good times.
