How about a beach trip and free fishing advice?
Get out to Port Arthur and Sea Rim State Park on March 11 and learn how to get your catch from the Gulf of Mexico.
Sea Rim will present a shore fishing clinic from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 11, on the East Beach. Area anglers will talk fishing and provide equipment, bait, supplies and knowledge.
“ This event is a great way get introduced to the outdoors and particularly the gulf. Our families show great excitement over the event, and we’d like to invite everyone who can make it, to come out into this great weather and participate,” Kimberlie Ringham, of Sea Rim, said.
Clinics are on the second Saturdays of each month from March through October.
There is no cost to attend the clinic, just the daily park entrance fee of $3 for each person 13 and older. Participants are welcome to bring their own bait, tackle and gear. However, we do provide bait and tackle for the clinic. No fishing license is required since they will be fishing in a State Park. This clinic is open to all ages,” Nathan Londenberg, park superintendent, said.
“Come out and learn the ins and outs of shore fishing from our local experts,” Londenberg said.
