Spring Break plans?
We’re headed to the beach.
Sea Rim State Park is a $3 a day bargain on the Gulf of Mexico.
You get 5.2 miles of shoreline with 4,000 acres of marshland in the deal. Do the beach things you love – set up a towel, look for shells, be the architect of sandcastles – and take a boardwalk stroll through grasses where birds, crabs and alligators hang out.
Imagine. They have “spring break” all year long at Sea Rim.
The Gambusia Nature Trail, kayaking, a marsh unit cabin, campsites and outdoor showers are attractions beyond the view. Rent a kayak or bring your own kayak or canoe. Paddle one of Sea Rim’s trails, from the 1.79-mile easy trail to the 9.59-mile advanced trail. You’ll glide past grasses, birds and all manner of natural beauty. Go #birding.
Fish in the surf or in the marsh areas. You do not need a license to fish from shore in a state park. They also have a boat ramp. Download Sea Rim’s Fishing Tip Sheet.
Adult entry is $3 a day and children 12 and younger are admitted free.
Bring the family to Museum of the Gulf Coast while you’re in town.
