Who will be the big winner at the Mardi Gras Jumbo Gumbo cookoff? No matter what the judges say, samplers can taste for themselves. Judging and public sampling will be at 1 p.m. the Saturday of the festival.
What else is going on? Plan to catch concerts and a choreographed laser show each night of Mardi Gras of Southeast Texas, Feb. 23-26, in downtown Port Arthur. Graphics, dimensional aerial fans, waves and beam matrix laser effects combine with a musical soundtrack.
The Yellowfin Elite Redfish Series Classic Kickoff, with4 p.m. live weigh ins Feb. 24-26 and decorated boat “floats” in Saturday’s Majestic Krewe of Aurora Grand Parade, is another new feature.
Get to Port Arthur as Mardi Gras celebrates 25 Years of Enchantment.
